Cortland Police investigate stabbing incident on Port Watson St.

On 07/28/2020 at about 1:50 PM, City police were called to the area of Port Watson Street and Pendleton Street for a 32 year old man that reported being stabbed.

Upon arrival, the man stated that he had been walking down Port Watson Street minding his own business when he passed a man and woman who were arguing. The man said that maybe he looked at the 2 out of the corner of his eye or something and that's why the unknown male assailant stabbed him.

The victim stated he continued walking East on Port Watson after being stabbed while the man that assaulted him and the woman walked West on Port Watson Street. The 32 year old victim first told authorities that he wanted nothing done and that he did not desire prosecution against anyone.

A construction crew working in the area stated they had seen and heard 2 men and a woman all arguing with one another shortly before police arrived. No one in the crew witnessed a stabbing. The victim was transported to GCMC in Cortland for his non-life threatening injury.
