Cortland Weather Outlook: Thursday, July 30

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, July 30, 2020:

A cold front moved into our region yesterday and has stalled out and weakened.

This boundary will keep a chance for rain in the forecast. However, today’s rain will be less widespread and less intense than yesterday.

Only a few scattered showers are expected to pop-up. Each individual shower will be quite small with only a brief period of rain as it moves through.

The small, scattered nature of the rain means plenty of areas will not get wet today.

Outside of the showers, skies will be the typical mix of sun and summertime fair-weather clouds.

High temperatures today will be comfortable in the upper 70s.

Winds will be from the west at 5-10 mph, but fluctuations in direction to both the southwest and northwest are also expected. Top gusts should be around 20 mph.

Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly clear tonight with little to no additional rain. Temperatures will drop back through the 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Friday: Sun and clouds. Very low chance for a shower. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Saturday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Sunday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Morning lows in the mid60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
