Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, August 10

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, August 10, 2020:

Heat and humidity will continue to work its way back into our region today.

Like most of our recent mornings, today will start off with valley fog burning off and sunshine mixing with fair weather clouds.

The fair weather clouds will build into the afternoon and one or two may grow large enough to produce some brief rain showers. Almost all areas should remain dry though.

The clouds will dissipate during the late afternoon and early evening, leaving clear skies after sunset.

South winds will blow at 5-10 mph with gusts reaching 15 mph.

Those winds will be responsible for an increase in temperatures and humidity. Look for highs in the mid to perhaps upper 80s with muggy dewpoints nearing 70 degrees.

Thanks to the humidity, temperatures will be slow to drop through the 70s tonight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Isolated showers and storms very late in the afternoon and into the evening. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 80s.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy. Maybe a few scattered showers and storms. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: Partly cloudy. Maybe a stray shower. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
