Cortland Weather Outlook: Saturday, August 15

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, August 15, 2020:

High pressure will keep control of our region for one more day before things start to turn a bit more active.

Like the last few days, today is starting off with a good deal of sunshine, which should continue into the early afternoon. Fair weather clouds will bubble up by the late morning, and a deck of thin clouds will filter the sunshine late in the day.

There is a very small chance for a brief, isolated shower this afternoon. Most areas will remain dry throughout the day. Those that do happen to see a bit of rain should only have it raining for less than 30 minutes.

Winds will remain light with speeds around or below 5 mph. Wind direction will swing around to the east and southeast instead of the northerly flow of the last few days.

Temperatures will remain in low 80s for highs and will stay around 70 degrees this evening thanks to the thin clouds.

Those clouds should move out overnight and temperatures will then fall back into the 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Sunday: Clouds and some sun. A couple scattered afternoon showers and storms possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Monday: Showers and thunderstorms possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Tuesday: More clouds than sun. A few scattered showers, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
