Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, August 28, 2020:

Today will be a much quieter day in the wake of yesterday’s storms.

Clouds will remain rather thick through the morning and a stray shower or two will be possible.

Breaks of sunshine will increase in the afternoon, though thin clouds will also be moving into the area, filtering some of the potential sunshine.

Clouds will increase again this evening as rain showers move back into the region. Some heavier rain and thunder will then be possible overnight.

Winds will generally be from the northwest at around 10 mph. Top gusts will be 20-25 mph.

Temperatures will work their way up to a high in the mid and upper 70s. As usual, southern and western portions of the county will be the warmest.

Evening temperatures will initially drop to the low 60s, but will rise slightly overnight as winds turn to the south.

Saturday: Rain and thunderstorms likely with localized downpours. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Sunday: A few morning showers. Some late sun. Much cooler. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Monday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Tuesday: Increasing clouds with afternoon rain. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
