Cortland Weather Outlook: Tuesday, September 1

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, September 1, 2020:

A weather disturbance will pass to our southeast today, spreading clouds and perhaps a few showers into the region.

Skies will be quite cloudy throughout the day. Only a few glimpses of sunshine are expected, and even that may be asking too much for most areas.

However, despite the cloud cover, rain will be nearly as scarce as the sunshine. A brief, light shower may spit a little rain here or there, but most areas will be dry throughout the day.

Winds will remain from the south today at a blustery 10-15 mph. Top gusts could approach 30 mph.

The clouds will limit the temperatures despite the winds. Look for highs to reach the mid 70s this afternoon.

Clouds and blustery winds will continue into the evening and overnight, with an increasing chance for a few showers after midnight as a new system approaches from the west.

Temperatures tonight will be slow to drop as a result, but should make it back into the mid 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Wednesday: Partly cloudy. A few scattered showers or storms. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Thursday: Partly cloudy. Maybe a shower, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Friday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Saturday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
