Cortland Weather Outlook: Friday, September 4

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, September 4, 2020:

Another cold front moved through last night and has set us up with cool but quiet weather.

There should be plenty of sunshine throughout today with just some fair-weather clouds mixing in at times. None of these clouds should produce any rain.

A steady northwest wind will blow in the wake of the front. Wind speeds should be about 5-10 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.

The wind will import cool air into the region, so the impact of the sunshine should be minor on our overall temperatures. Look for highs today to reach near or just above 70 degrees.

Humidity levels will be much lower today than the last couple days.

Skies will clear tonight, and wind speeds will drop. That will allow temperatures to quickly retreat into the 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Saturday: Sun early, then mixed skies. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs near 70.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs near 70.

Monday: Partly cloudy. Breezy. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday: Lots of sunshine. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
