Press release from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office
At approximately 9:24 PM on September 8th, 2020 Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office were sent to investigate a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash that occurred in the south-bound lane of Interstate 81 in the Town of Preble on the same day. The crash resulted in one fatality and the crash is still under investigation at this time.
The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification to family.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in this investigation by the New York State Police, Preble Fire Department, TLC Ambulance and the New York State Department of Transportation
