Cortland Weather Outlook: Tuesday, November 3

Winter, snow

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, November 3, 2020:

Today will start off with a band of lake effect, but the rest of the day should be quiet.

This band of precipitation is moving south but should be out of the area before 9 AM. A few flurries may linger behind, but these two will be quick to move out.

Some rain could mix with the snow burst. Road conditions should remain in decent shape, though visibility will fall with the snow burst.

Skies will remain cloudy through the morning before clouds start to gradually break up this afternoon. By tonight, skies should be mostly clear.

Winds will be from the northwest throughout the day but will be strongest in the morning. Wind speeds will drop from near 15 mph this morning to near 5 mph late this afternoon.

High temperatures will make a run at 40 degrees thanks to the lessening of the wind and increasing sunshine. Evening temperatures will dive back into the low 30s though.

Winds will turn to the south this evening as high pressure passes east, keeping temperatures in the low 30s most of the night with a slight rise in the hours just before dawn.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Wednesday: Sunny and much warmer. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Thursday: Sunshine filtered through thin clouds. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Friday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Saturday: Another sun-filled day. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
