Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, November 11

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, November 11, 2020:

The day of change is here as a cold front works through the region, ending the sunny, dry, and warm weather.

Rain showers are likely today out ahead of the front. Rain will most likely start in the late morning hours and will be on and off form much of the remainder of the day.

A few heavier downpours and maybe a rumble of thunder may be possible at times.

The front itself will be slow moving and will not arrive until this evening. That means winds will remain from the south much of the day at around 10 mph. Top gusts will come this morning at 25-30 mph.

Temperatures will still be warmer than average, but not as warm as the last few days. Look for highs in the low 60s.

Winds will turn to the northwest tonight behind the front and cooler air will move in. Temperatures will tumble through the 50s and 40s overnight, ending up near 40 degrees by Thursday morning.

The rain will end as the front moves in early this evening, but clouds should remain most of the night.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Thursday: Clouds with some late day sun. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Friday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Saturday: Early sunshine, then increasing clouds. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Sunday: Periods of rain. Windy early. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
