High pressure will bring a long overdue day of sunshine to the area before clouds ahead of our next weather maker arrive late.

Bright, sun-filled skies will dominate most of the day. The first thin clouds should not arrive until the late afternoon, and even these should not totally block the sunshine.

The high pressure will be centered off the Mid-Atlantic coast, setting up southerly winds to go with the sunshine. These two factors should push temperatures into the upper 40s.

Wind speeds will be around 5 mph until this evening, when they increase to near 10 mph. Gusts will be near 15 mph during the day and to 20 mph during the night.

Temperatures will drop into the mid 30s this evening and remain mostly steady through the overnight as clouds thicken. No precipitation is expected until after sunrise Monday morning.
