Cortland Weather Outlook: Sunday, December 20

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, December 20, 2020:

A small weather system will pass through the region today with mostly light precipitation.

Temperatures should be just cold enough for most or all of the precipitation to fall as snow. A little rain could mix in if temperatures get a degree or two warmer mostly in the later morning.

Cooler air will work in aloft for the afternoon, reducing the chances for any rain to mix in. A slushy coating to an inch of accumulation will be possible.

Look for afternoon highs to be near or just above the freezing point of 32 degrees. Little change in the temperature is expected this evening, even as the snow tapers off to just a stray flurry or two.

Winds will be from the south and southwest throughout the day at 5-10 mph. Top gusts will be around 20 mph.
