High pressure passing to our south this morning will end up off the Mid-Atlantic coast this afternoon. The shift away from our region will lead to an increase in cloud cover and south winds.

The best chance for sunshine will be through the morning hours. Even then, skies will be mixed. Thin clouds will build in and thicken for the afternoon, but no precipitation is expected.

South winds will blow at around 5 mph this morning but will increase to 10 mph this afternoon and 15 mph tonight.

Top gusts will come after sunset at 30-35 mph. The strongest gusts will occur over the higher elevations in the northern part of the county.

High temperatures will reach the mid 30s this afternoon, then drop back to around 30 this evening. From there, the temperature will hold steady until a few hours before sunrise, when it starts to increase.

Thursday: Windy with rain likely, especially in the afternoon and evening. Some of the rain will be heavy at times. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon temperatures around 50, rising to the low 50s after sunset.

Friday: Precipitation tapers off and ends as some snow showers. Morning roads may be slick. Morning temperatures drop into the low 30s from the 50s and 40s overnight. Afternoon temperatures in the mid 20s.

Saturday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the mid teens. Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.

Sunday: Partly cloudy. Maybe an early snow shower. Morning lows in the upper teens. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
