A Response to the Events in DC

At this historic moment at the U.S. Capitol, we need to remember we are all Americans. Republicans or Democrats, we are first and foremost citizens of the United States of America. We pledge allegiance to the Republic and that is what we stand for.

The Cortland Voice is proud of our local citizens who have peacefully exercised Constitutional rights to vote and speak their minds. We hope that all Americans will follow this example. Remember, we’ve all pledged our allegiance to our “One Nation, under God, Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Let us never forget the Union we fought to establish, to preserve and will defend in our hearts. 

 

Our forefathers defined our nation in the Preamble of our Constitution. Let’s read it and adhere to it again, today:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
