Cortland Weather Outlook: Friday, January 8

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, January 8, 2021:

Dry air will slowly work into the area today, bringing an eventual end to our persistent cloud cover.

That does not mean much sunshine is expected today, though. Clouds will be commonplace through the morning and at least into the early afternoon.

The clouds should start to gradually break up during the mid to late afternoon. So, some sunshine may be able to work its way through before the sun sets.

Skies will turn mostly clear tonight, though.

With the dry air increasing, precipitation will be limited to one or two widely isolated flurries this morning.

Winds will remain out of the northwest at 5-10 mph. Top gusts on the day will peak around 20 mph.

High temperatures will mostly be in the mid 20s, with overnight temperatures dropping into the teens.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Saturday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs near 30.

Sunday: More clouds than sun. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.
