Cortland Weather Outlook: Saturday, January 9

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, January 9, 2021:

Sunshine will finally return to Cortland County today thanks to a pocket of dry near-surface air.

There will still be some clouds in the sky, but most of them will be thin and high in the atmosphere. The sun should have little trouble shining through and between them.

Near-surface moisture will increase once more tonight though, resulting in a return of overcast skies and pockets of fog and drizzle. No precipitation is expected through the day or the first part of the evening, though.

Winds will still be from the north-northwest, as they have been all week. Speeds will be around 10 mph today with gusts around 25 mph.

Temperatures will climb from a chilly start to highs in the low 30s. A quick drop into the low 20s is expected this evening, but with clouds increasing, temperatures will be mostly steady the rest of the night.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Sunday: Cloudy, maybe with some late sun. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs near 30.
