Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, January 25, 2021:

High pressure will remain in control of our weather even as a new weather system begins to make its initial approach on the region.

Skies will be sunny through the morning, but a deck of thin overcast will build in for the afternoon. Some sun may still shine through the overcast, but its ability to do so will wane as the afternoon goes on.

Cloudy skies are expected through the evening and overnight, but with no precipitation falling except perhaps right before sunrise Tuesday.

Winds will be nearly calm for the morning and early afternoon before a subtle east-southeast wind develops late. This will increase to around 5 mph for the overnight.

Temperatures will rebound from the cold start to reach a high in the upper 20s to near 30 degrees. A quick drop back into the upper teens is expected early this evening before temperatures hold steady or even gain a few degrees overnight.
