Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, February 3, 2021:

A combination of moisture off Lake Ontario and left behind by the winter storm will keep light snow showers flying today.

The best chance for snow will be through the morning hours, but the afternoon may hold onto the flurries as well. An inch or two of fluffy snow may result, adding to the already impressive snow totals.

Rural roads will remain sloppy while conditions on the main routes should be decent. Plan your travels today accordingly.

Feeding the snow will be northwest winds blowing at 10 to 15 mph. Gusts will occasionally reach 30 mph. Areas of blowing and drifting snow will continue as a result.

Temperatures will only rise a couple degrees, topping out in the mid 20s this afternoon. Lingering clouds will hold temperatures in the mid 20s this evening, but a drop to the upper teens should happen after midnight as skies start to clear.

Thursday: Plenty of sunshine. Morning lows in the upper 10s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Friday: Periods of light snow, possibly mixing with a little sleet. Accumulations of 1-2 inches. Morning lows around 20. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Saturday: A lake effect flurries. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the low 20s.

Sunday: Light snow possible, but uncertain. Morning lows in the mid 0s. Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.
