Cortland Weather Outlook: Saturday, February 6

snow, partly cloudy, sun

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, February 6, 2021:

Today will be a cool but quiet day with gusty winds.

The winds will be from the southwest, but they will not be a warm wind. Cool air wrapping around low pressure far to the north in Canada will feed into the region.

Winds speeds will be 10-15 mph throughout the day with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Temperatures will not get much of an opportunity to rise, despite a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will only top out in the low to perhaps mid 20s.

With the winds from the southwest, lake effect snow will not be a factor today. A stray flurry cannot be ruled out, but there should be more sun than snow today.

Skies will clear this evening and winds will drop, allowing temperatures to quickly fall into the single digits. A few places may even reach 0 degrees overnight.
