Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, February 10, 2021:

High pressure from the Midwest will nose into the region today even as disturbed weather to the south tries to push clouds into the area.

Skies this morning will be sunny with a few stray clouds here and there. A flurry cannot be ruled out along the Onondaga County line, but the bulk of any lake effect snow should be well to the north.

Thin wisps of cirrus cloud will start to push in by the late morning. During the afternoon, these clouds should thicken.

Winds will start from the west before turning a bit more northwesterly for the late morning and afternoon. Wind speeds will peak at around 7 mph in the morning before dropping under 5 mph for the afternoon.

Temperatures will top out in the low 20s today. Tonight, temperatures will fall back into the teens with single digits after midnight.

The weather tonight will be a mix of clouds and stars. A few stray snow showers may be possible after midnight as the last remains of the lake effect drops south.

Friday: Light snow with an inch or so of accumulation. Morning lows in the low 0s. Afternoon highs in the mid 10s.

Saturday: Increasing clouds. Snow developing after sunset. Morning lows in the low 0s. Afternoon highs near 20.

Sunday: Morning snow. Then, cloudy. Morning lows in the low 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.
