Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, February 20, 2021:
A cold northwest flow of air will produce on and off lake effect snow throughout the day.
The snow will not be steady, as conditions for lake effect are only somewhat favorable.
When it does snow, though, it could come down briefly hard. Outside of the snow, some sun may shine.
In all accumulations through the day should only be an inch or two, but a few localized areas could see a bit more.
The northwest winds will increase through the morning to 10-15 mph. Top gusts will reach around 30 mph.
With the influx of cool air, temperatures will only top out in the mid 20s.
Tonight, the lake effect will gradually taper off. Skies will become less cloudy after midnight. Temperatures will hold in the upper teens this evening, but as skies clear, should drop to the low teens overnight.

Monday: A band of late morning or early afternoon snow. Morning lows in the mid teens. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.
Tuesday: A few snow showers, possibly mixing with some rain. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
