Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, February 25, 2021:

Yesterday’s milder air will be gone today, but the weather should remain fairly quiet.

Skies will be mostly cloudy through the morning and much of the afternoon with just a few glimpses of sunshine here or there.

During the early afternoon, a few lake effect snow showers may make their way into the region. These should not last long enough to produce any notable accumulations.

After these snow showers, skies should begin to clear during the late afternoon. This trend will continue into the evening.

Winds will be from the northwest at around 10 mph today. The wind speed will drop tonight and winds will turn more westerly. Top gusts on the day will come in around 30 mph during the late morning and early afternoon.

High temperatures will top out in the low 30s. A quick drop into the teens will take place this evening thanks to the lessening amounts of wind and cloud cover.

Saturday: Rain showers, starting as a little snow and ending by the early afternoon. Morning lows near 20. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Sunday: A few rain showers, especially in the afternoon. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 40.
