McGraw Girls Take Charge on Defense to Beat Otselic Valley on the Road

The McGraw varsity basketball team took down Otselic Valley Monday night with a score of 56-15 on the road to improve to 4-0 on the season.

The McGraw Eagles started off hot from the very beginning, with them taking an early 20-4 first quarter lead.

According to Mcgraw Head Coach Corey Wilson, the Eagles took charge with their high intensity defense, which led to many fast break points. McGraw would go on to have a 33-6 lead at the half.

“Defensively we have played strong all year long as a team,” said Coach Wilson. “Many girls were able to get in tonight and contribute on both sides of the floor. This team is a lot of fun to coach and watch at the same time.”

The Eagles ended the game with a team total of 20 rebounds, 7 blocks and 8 steals. McGraw’s Karissa Wilbur led all scorers with 24 points on the night. Following Wilbur were Elyssa Fish with 10 points and Emily Fish with 8 points.

McGraw will host Cincinnatus on Wednesday, March 3rd at 6pm.
