McGraw Girls Volleyball Loses Tough Battle to DeRuyter on Senior Night

The McGraw Varsity Girls Volleyball team  lost in 3 sets Thursday to the DeRuyter Rockets on McGraw's Senior Night.

Abbey Augur, Morgan Hallstead, Bayley Meade, and Lindsey Watrous were all honored on Thursday night’s game.

McGraw lost the first set by just 4 points, and then the second set by 14. The Eagles did not make it easy for DeRuyter, as they gave the Rockets a fight in the third and final set of the game. Even though McGraw showed resilience, the Rockets were able to hold on to win the set, 23-25.

Jaiden Cortez led the Eagles in digs with 4 digs on the night. Abbey Augur had 2 kills and 3 digs.

Madelin Pforter led the Rockets with a total of 22 assists. Jaidan Degear recorded 8 kills, 6 digs and 6 aces.

“The McGraw Lady Eagles seniors have been such a huge part of the volleyball success over the years,” said McGraw Head Coach Jessyca Doran. “We have had great memories and wish them the best.”
