The Marathon Olympians were able to get back to their winning ways, as they defeated Cortland 41-24 on the road Friday evening.
It was a close first quarter, with Cortland being able to keep close the gap on Marathon’s three point lead. However, the Olympians then began to take over the game, outscoring the Cortland Tigers 17-6 in the second quarter. Marathon had a 28-14 lead at the end of the half.
In the second half, Marathon’s defense contained Cortland to 10 points to win the game.
“Our girls did a really nice job controlling the paint,” said Marathon Head Coach Andrew Pierce. “It was a nice team effort on defensive.”
