Meet the City of Cortland Police Department's Final Two Candidates For Police Chief

The City of Cortland interviewed two candidates for the police department's police chief position on Friday. Police Chief F. Michael Catalano's last day will be Friday March 19, 2021.

In a press release from City of Cortland Mayor Brian Tobin:

"The position of police chief will become vacant March 19 due to the retirement of Chief Catalano after a long, successful career.  There are two finalists who not only meet, but exceed, the basic requirements for the position.  Both have been interviewed by the police commission.  The video links above are from an interview with the mayor, and several community members.  The questions are a mix of standard interview questions, and ones that were posed by members of the community.  Mayor Brian Tobin and community member Regina Grantham asked the questions.

The mayor is now responsible for recommending a candidate to the city council.  A candidate might be presented to council at the March 16th council meeting."

Below, we've included the full interview for both candidates.
