Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, March 8

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, March 8, 2021:

Warmer air will start to make a comeback today as our weather pattern begins to shift.

Sunshine will mix with clouds today. Most of the clouds will be thin, upper atmosphere clouds that the sun should still shine through. Later in the day, some thicker clouds will be possible.

No precipitation is expected during the daytime hours, but a few very light, isolated showers could develop this evening. A few of these could result in some patchy freezing drizzle, but with little to no icing.

Winds will be from the west and southwest but will be very light. Much of the day will have wind speeds at or under 5 mph. Top daytime gusts will be just over 10 mph.

Tonight, winds will turn to the south and increase to speeds of 5-10 mph and gusts to 20 mph.

High temperatures will work into the mid and upper 30s this afternoon. A few places could flirt with 40 degrees if there is enough sunshine later in the afternoon.

Temperatures tonight will initially drop to near 30 degrees but will rise back into the mid 30s overnight.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny. A few thin clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Wednesday: Sunny with some late clouds. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Thursday: A mix of sun and clouds. A few scattered showers, especially late. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the near 60.

Friday: Morning rain showers. Then, breezy and sunny. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
