We met with two SUNY Cortland seniors who have started an online petition to have an in-person commencement ceremony. The University recently announced that this year's ceremony would be virtual for the 2021 Spring Commencement. Their petition has well over 2,000 signatures.

Tuesday, we met with SUNY Cortland Communications Director Fred Pierce and he touched on this spring's commencement and the fact that there is still a chance that the university could have some form of an in-person commencement (depending on multiple factors like the COVID-19 numbers, the county  health department, the university's administration, staffing for the ceremony sessions, word from the SUNY Chancellor and SUNY office, and more).
