Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, March 14, 2021:

Another cold front will move through the area today, reinforcing the cool air overhead.

Clouds and some sun will mix this morning as winds start to increase. Morning winds will be from the northwest at 10-15 mph with gusts over 30 mph.

The front will arrive in the late morning or early afternoon hours. Winds will continue to increase with speeds of 15-20 mph and gusts over 40 mph.

A few brief snow squalls may accompany the front. With the strong winds, visibility could drop significantly for short times. Snow accumulations will be under an inch, though.

Behind the snow showers, some additional sun will be possible between clouds.

Temperatures will rise this morning to the mid 30s. Afternoon temperatures will go the other way, dropping into the 20s by the late afternoon.

The freefall will continue this evening with temperatures tumbling through the 20s and into the teens. Winds will start to gradually slacken and skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a late shower or flurry. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Wednesday: Sunshine with late clouds. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Thursday: Cloudy with late rain. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.
