Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, March 17

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, March 17, 2021:

A quiet but mostly cloudy day is ahead for Cortland County, but temperatures will come up a bit.

The best chance for sunshine will be late in the afternoon. Otherwise, skies will be rather cloudy throughout the day.

A few spits of drizzle or a flurry will be possible early this morning, but the rest of the day will be precipitation free. Most areas will not see any notable precipitation at all.

Winds will start from the south today before sliding to the southwest. Speeds will be gentle, generally around or just over 5 mph. Top gusts on the day will be around 20 mph.

Despite the lack of sunshine, the south winds will help temperatures warm up. Look for afternoon highs in the low 50s. If some sun does work out by the mid-afternoon, mid 50s would be more likely.

Tonight, skies will remain at least partly cloudy, and temperatures will stay above freezing, mostly in the upper and mid 30s.
