Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, March 29

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, March 29, 2021:

High pressure will build into the region today, leading to vastly different morning and afternoon conditions.

This morning, skies will be filled with thick, low clouds. Snow showers are likely, especially early on. The snow won’t be too heavy, but a dusting of accumulation will be possible.

Northwest winds will continue to blow at around 20 mph with gusts of 40-45 mph.

The wind will weaken this afternoon and dry air will overtake the region. During the early afternoon, skies will break and become sunny. After a morning filled with clouds, much of the afternoon may end up without any clouds at all.

Wind directions will remain from the northwest, but speeds will drop to around 10 mph by 5 PM with gusts no higher than 25 mph.

The sunshine will help temperatures along a little, but the northwest wind will be the primary factor at play. Only expect highs in the low 40s.

Skies will remain clear tonight but winds will turn around to the south. After a quick drop into the mid 20s early this evening, temperatures will rise back to near 30 by dawn Tuesday.
