Cortland Weather Outlook: Tuesday, March 30

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, March 30, 2021:

South winds and sunshine will give temperatures a boost today.

High pressure will remain in control of our weather but will be to our southeast. A south wind developed overnight behind the high and will only strengthen today.

Expect peak wind speeds of 15-20 mph with gusts once more between 35-40 mph. The strongest winds will be during the afternoon, but the wind will remain gusty even after sunset.

The south winds will team up with ample sunshine to propel temperatures into the low 60s. Evening temperatures will drop back through the 50s and eventually end up in the 40s.

The air today will be dry with afternoon relative humidity values under 40%. With the warm temperatures, sunshine, and gusty winds, the brush fire risk will be higher today.

A few thin clouds will move in late in the afternoon with additional clouds expected to move in overnight. No precipitation is expected until after sunrise on Wednesday, though.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Wednesday: Cloudy with afternoon rain turning to snow after sunset, possibly with some accumulation. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
