The Cortland Purple Tigers improved to a 3-1 record after defeating Central Square in three sets at home.
Cortland’s Julia Guest led the Tigers with a strong game at the net with a total of 8 kills. Cortland was also led by Jenn Baker (14 assists & 7 digs), Alyssa Greenwood (10 digs), and Lexi Zacek (5 aces, 4 kills & 7 digs).
Central Square was led by Lauren Scheuer (15 kills) and Audrey Tetrault (12 assists).
“We have a tendency to start slowly in each set, but the fact that the girls stay calm and just keep playing their game is something that I’m proud of so far this season,” said Cortland Head Coach Cheri Olson. “We started the third set with a 7 point deficit and still pulled out the win. Overall passing and defense remains our strength.”
Marathon Varsity Boys Soccer vs. Whitney Point

The Marathon Olympians defeated Whitney Point 9-0 on the road Tuesday afternoon.
Marathon started things off with a comfortable 4-0 lead going into halftime, as they maintained possession of the ball throughout the game.
The Olympians were able to score 5 more goals in the second half to get the win.
Kaiden Cornell led Marathon with 4 goals and 1 assist. Following Cornell were Braeden Morrison (3 goals & 1 assist), Sam Castellot (1 goal & 3 assists), Eli Hoyt (1 goal), and Bryce Hartman (1 assist).
Marathon ended the game with a total of 27 shots, 11 corners, and 1 save from Trent Ensign; while Whitney Point had 2 shots, 1 corner, and 12 saves from Owen Dunham.
McGraw Varsity Boys Soccer vs. DeRuyter

The McGraw Golden Eagles defeated DeRuyter 2-0 at home.
Both of McGraw’s goals were scored in the first half. Mike Levitskiy scored the first goal for the Eagles with about 9 minutes left in the half off a corner kick assisted by Jackson Card. About a minute later, Nate Stiles found himself wide open outside the box out and scored to make it 2-0.
The Eagles were then able to hold on to their lead to win the game.
McGraw ended the game with 12 shots, 6 corners, and 3 saves from Nolan Knickerbocker; while DeRuyter had 13 shots, 2 corners, and 4 saves.

The McGraw Lady Eagles beat DeRuyter 3-1 on the road.
The Eagles got off to a hot start, obtaining a 2-0 lead at the end of the half with goals from Bayley Meade (assisted by Chelsi Cowen) and Abbey Augur (unassisted).
In the second half, Meade found the back of the net once again to make it 3-0 off an assist from Lexi Stiles. However, DeRuyter was not ready to give up, as Brooke Judson scored to make it 3-1 with just over 20 minutes left in the game.
The Eagles' defense was able to maintain their lead to win the game.
McGraw ended the game with 9 shots, 4 corners, and 2 saves from Jaiden Cortez; while DeRuyter had 5 shots, 5 corners, and 13 saves from Kelsey Brown.
