Another very warm, dry day is ahead for Cortland County, similar to how Thursday played out.

Sunshine will increase for a time this morning, but then thin clouds will move in by midday to filter the sunshine. No precipitation is expected from the clouds, though.

South winds will blow at around 5 mph, pumping more warm air into the region. Top gusts will be near 20 mph, mostly during the morning hours.

Despite the filtered nature of the sunshine, highs should break into the low or even mid 70s this afternoon. Tonight, temperatures will only slowly drop back through the 50s.

Clouds will thicken further overnight, but rain will likely hold off until near or just before sunrise.

Tuesday: Periods of rain showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Wednesday: Cloudy with occasional showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 50.
