Another cool, soggy day is ahead as moisture wraps around the backside of low pressure along the New England coast.

Precipitation will become more likely as the morning goes on. A little snow may mix in at times, but most of what falls should be rain.

Rain showers will continue into the afternoon and may be persistent at times. A general decrease in shower activity will take hold in the late afternoon, with just a few lingering showers or flurries this evening.

Along with the showers, localized areas of fog will be possible, especially in higher elevations. Areas of fog will continue into the night.

Northwest winds will blow at 5-10 mph with gusts of 20-25 mph. The wind and clouds will have temperatures struggling to get more than a couple degrees over 40 this afternoon.

Evening temperatures will drop into the upper, then mid 30s, where they should remain overnight.

Tuesday: Sun early. Then, increasing clouds with nighttime rain and snow. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 60.
