Cortland Weather Outlook: Sunday, April 18

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, April 18, 2021:

A few more scattered showers will be possible today due to moisture lingering behind our late weather low pressure complex.

The day will start off with a mix of sun and clouds through the morning. Puffy cumulus clouds will start to develop late in the morning as the atmosphere warms.

By the afternoon, some of these will grow large enough to produce some rain showers. Most areas will probably stay dry, but those that do can expect a brief moderate downpour.

The showers will diminish as the sun sets and the daytime heating is lost, but a few may linger into the evening anyway.

A light west and northwest wind will blow at around or just over 5 mph today. Top gusts will reach around 20 mph.

Temperatures will be very close to the seasonal averages today, reaching a high in the mid 50s. Evening temperatures will slip down to around 40, with mid and upper 30s overnight.
