Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, April 19, 2021:

Like yesterday, most areas will stay dry today, but a few pop-up showers this afternoon will be possible.

Sunny skies this morning will once again fill with developing cumulus clouds by midday. Isolated showers will then form in the afternoon, but most areas will not see any rain.

Those that do see rain should only expect a brief shower before the precipitation quickly moves on.

Winds will be from the west at around or just over 5 mph. Top wind gusts should be under 20 mph.

High temperatures will add a couple more degrees, topping out in the upper 50s. A few of the higher elevations may stick closer to 55 degrees.

Tonight, the chances for precipitation will drop as the sun sets. Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly clear. An approaching front will bring an increase in clouds and perhaps a few showers after midnight.

Temperatures will drop into the low 40s this evening and end up around 40 overnight.

Wednesday: Windy with periods of rain, especially in the afternoon. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Thursday: Snow showers. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Friday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs near 50.
