The Cortland Purple Tigers were able to pull off a five set victory over Auburn Tuesday night to close out their shortened season.

Both teams battled until the fifth and decisive set of the match, where the Tigers came out victorious with a score of 25-19.

“It was a short but sweet season,” said Cortland Head Coach Cheri Olson. “Ending on a win is always a good thing, even if we had to fight five sets to do it. Auburn is a very scrappy team and we were having a hard time finding open spots on their side of the net. I’m proud of this team and will miss these seniors!”

The Purple Tigers were led by Alex Gier (8 kills), Jenn Baker (18 assists & 8 digs), Lexi Zacek (5 kills & 10 digs), Alyssa Greenwood (4 aces, 2 kills & 5 digs), and Julia Guest (3 aces & 4 kills).

Auburn's biggest contributors were Kirsten Casterline (14 assists,13 digs), Marissa Albert (16 digs), Sidney Gera (16 digs), and Nicole Rhodes (6 kills & 12 digs).
