Cortland Weather Outlook: Friday, April 23

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, April 23, 2021:

Our weather pattern will begin to trend back towards warmer conditions today and will culminate with some very warm temperatures next week.

High pressure along the coast of the Carolinas has taken over our weather, giving the low pressure system that still lingers northeast of New England the boot from our area.

Skies will be sunny throughout the day, with just some occasional fair weather clouds this afternoon. No precipitation is expected from any of the cloud cover, though.

Winds will be blustery, but not as strong as yesterday, with speeds of 10-15 mph and gusts to 30 mph. The wind direction will also change, coming in from primarily the west.

Warmer air will build in on those winds and will be aided along by the sunshine. Highs should jump into the mid 50s today.

Skies will remain clear tonight, but the wind will help keep evening temperatures in the 40s and overnight temperatures above 35 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Saturday: Sun early, then clouds in the afternoon. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Sunday: Periods of rain, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Monday: Early clouds, then sunshine. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs near 50.

Tuesday: Sunny with some thin clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 70.
