Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, April 24, 2021:

Warmer air will continue to move into the region today, but so will some clouds out ahead of the next weather maker.

Sunshine will dominate the early part of the day with high pressure still firmly in control. The sun will start to mix with clouds by midday. Both high, thin clouds and some lower fair weather type clouds are expected.

Through the afternoon, skies will be mostly cloudy and the clouds will persist into the nighttime hours. No precipitation is expected during the daytime or evening, and just a few scattered showers will be possible after midnight.

Winds will be from the west and southwest at 5-10 mph. Top gusts will reach about 20 mph on the day.

While the clouds will prevent it from getting quite as warm as it could, highs should still be warmer than yesterday, reaching around 60 degrees.

Tonight’s temperatures will drop back into the mid 40s and should remain there most of the night.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a late shower or thunderstorm. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
