Cortland Weather Outlook: Sunday, April 25

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, April 25, 2021:

Low pressure to our southeast is bringing some early morning rain to the area, while a second piece of energy will bring a few more showers this afternoon.

This morning’s rain will taper off and end no later than the mid-morning. Much of the midday will then be dry. Some breaks of sun will even pop up from time to time.

Then, a cold front later in the afternoon will bring a few more scattered showers. Not everyone will necessarily see rain this afternoon, and those that do should only see it briefly.

A few more stray showers will be possible this evening, but they will be few and far between.

Winds will start from the south around 5 mph early this morning, but will turn to the northwest and increase to around 10 mph. Top gusts today should be around 30 mph.

Temperatures will not be quite as warm as yesterday thanks to the clouds, showers, and wind. Look for highs to still reach the mid 50s, though.

Evening temperatures will drop into the upper 30s, with low 30s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Monday: Plenty of sunshine. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Tuesday: A mix of sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a late shower or thunderstorm. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Thursday: Cloudy with afternoon rain possible. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
