Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, May 5

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, May 5, 2021:

An early morning cold front will lead to falling temperatures today.

Rain associated with the front will be in the area through the early morning hours. Some rumbles of thunder and heavier downpours are possible.

Most of the rain will push east by the later morning, though a few showers will linger into the midday hours.

The afternoon will then turn out cloudy, but generally dry, with just a few spits of drizzle.

Northwest winds will blow at 5-10 for much of the day, but will increase to around 10 mph for the late afternoon and evening hours.

Temperatures overnight were in the upper 50s, but will come down into the mid 50s early this morning. From there, the temperature will bounce between the low and mid 50s for much of the daytime hours before dropping blow 50 toward sunset.

Overnight, temperatures will continue to drop through the 40s and may make it into the upper 30s before dawn, especially if the clouds begin to break up.

Friday: Rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Sunday: Cloudy with rain possible. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
