The CDC and FDA have recommended use of J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine resume in the U.S., effective April 23rd. A review of all available data at this time shows the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine’s known and potential benefits outweigh its known and potential risks for those recommended to receive it, according to the health department. Women younger than 50 years old especially should be aware of the rare risk of blood clots after vaccination for those with a low platelet count, and that other COVID-19vaccines are available where this risk has not been seen. We ask that you discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider before getting vaccinated. Those interested to receive a dose of any of the available vaccines, Moderna, Pfizer or Janssen can visit www.vaccines.gov to find a provider and set up an appointment for a day and time that works for you.
