Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, May 18, 2021:
Sunny, dry, warm weather will continue yet again today as high pressure remains parked off the Mid-Atlantic coast.
As usual, skies will be clear through the mid-morning hours, after which fair weather clouds will start to develop. These clouds will persist through the afternoon and dissipate by evening.
Between the dry atmosphere, with dewpoints in the 40s, and little to no atmospheric energy, showers are highly unlikely to develop. Still, a brief spit of rain cannot totally be ruled out.
Temperatures will continue to rise with highs today in the low and mid 70s. Evening temperatures will back into the 50s, but probably will not get lower than 50 degree overnight.
Light winds will blow at around 5 mph today from various directions.
