Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, May 20, 2021:

High pressure will continue to keep the weather warm and mostly dry, but today will have an increase in cloud cover.

The clouds moved in last night and will stick around for much of the day today. There will be sunny breaks within the clouds, and often times the clouds themselves will allow at least partial sun to shine through them.

There is a small chance for a shower again this afternoon, but like much of the past week, most areas will remain dry.

South and southwest winds will blow at around 5 mph with top gusts on the day of just 10-15 mph.

Nonetheless, the south winds will continue to bring warmer air into the area, even with the limits on the sunshine. Highs today will push into the low 80s.

Clouds will continue tonight, helping keep temperatures warm. Evening temperatures will slowly fall through the 60s, ending up in the upper 50s by dawn.

Friday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a shower. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Some scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Sunday: A better chance for showers or thunderstorms. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. A better chance for showers or thunderstorms. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
