Cortland Weather Outlook: Saturday, May 22

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, May 22, 2021:

High pressure will loosen its grip on the area as a weak jet stream builds in overhead.

The weather will still be plenty warm, but not quite as hot, thanks to winds from the northwest today. Those winds will blow at around 10 mph with gusts to around 20 mph.

Highs will top out near 80 degrees, which is still about ten degrees above the seasonal average. Dewpoints will remain in the 50s, keeping the humidity mostly unnoticeable.

Clouds will ride along the jet stream, keeping skies mixed for today. Many of the clouds will be thin and high in the atmosphere. Some lower level, thicker clouds will also be possible from time to time.

A few stray showers will also drift through at different points today. These will be scattered at best, and many areas may end up dry from start to finish.

Tonight, skies will continue to be mixed with temperatures staying in the 60s.
