Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, May 23, 2021:

A cold front will drop south through the region today.

Out ahead of the front, it will continue to be warm and a touch muggy. Temperatures will rise through the morning and peak during the midday hours in the mid 70s.

As the front moves through during the early afternoon, scattered showers will be possible. None of the rain should be overly heavy or long lasting.

Outside of the rain, both before and after the frontal passage, skies will be a mix of clouds and some breaks of sun.

Winds will turn to the northwest and increase to 10-15 mph as the front moves through. A few gusts over 30 mph will be possible. This will cause temperatures to fall during the afternoon, and by 6 PM, it should only be in the 60s.

Partly cloudy skies will remain through the night. Temperatures will continue to drop, but should stay above 50 degrees throughout the night.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs near 70.

Tuesday: Sun, clouds, and scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Thursday: More sun than clouds. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
