Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, May 24

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, May 24, 2021:

The frontal boundary that moved through yesterday has stalled to our south, but will remain far enough away to not have a major impact on our weather.

Instead, in the wake of the front, skies will be plenty sunny today. Periods of thin clouds will work through from time to time, especially through the morning and midday hours. These clouds will do little to reduce the sunshine, though.

These types of clouds are not rain producers, so no precipitation is expected around the region today.

Winds will be from the southeast this morning and will gradually swing around to the southwest. Wind speeds will be near or under 5 mph.

Afternoon highs should make it into the low and mid 70s. Evening temperatures will drop back to around 60, with mid 50s during the overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe an isolated late shower or thunderstorm. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Thursday: More sun than clouds. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Friday: Increasing clouds. Maybe a shower late. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs near 70.
