On May 27, 2021, City police Investigators charged Angela M. Graham (32) of 4 Union Street Cortland following an investigation into anonymous threats being made against the Ames linen company and its employees on Huntington Street in City of Cortland. These threats came via a supervisor's cellular telephone from a disguised number. The threats were against the building itself and the people inside and came throughout the day Tuesday, May 25th and into Wednesday the 26th. Ames linen management, along with City PD took immediate proactive steps to ensure the safety of those within the building, while the investigative team combed through the digital evidence. It was discovered that a series of internet based applications had been used in an attempt to disguise the identity of the actual message sender. Working closely with internet providers and web based application managers, investigators were able to narrow down their search to a single identifiable device that was being used to send the messages. A search warrant was obtained for the seizure of the device. Graham was interviewed following the seizure of the device and subsequently charged with;

Falsely Reporting an Incident (M)

Making a Terroristic Threat (F)

Graham was remanded to CCJ in lieu of $1500.00 cash bail or $3000.00 bond and is scheduled to appear in City Court on June 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
