Cortland Weather Outlook: Friday, June 4

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, June 4, 2021:

Today’s weather will be quieter and warmer than the last few days but will not be completely devoid of rain.

Clouds will be plentiful through the first part of the morning, left behind by yesterday’s weather system. A gradual increase in sunshine will take place, though.

By the afternoon, fair weather cumulus clouds will start to develop. These will continue to grow, and a few scattered showers and small thunderstorms will develop.

The chances for rain are rather low, though, and any rain that does fall should be brief.

High temperatures will work their way into the mid and upper 70s this afternoon. This will be followed by a slow drop through the 60s tonight.

Winds will be light today with speeds near or under 5 mph. The wind direction will vary, starting out from the southwest before turning to the west or even northwest. At the end of the day, though, the wind will go back to the southwest.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a scattered shower. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low and mid 80s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 80s.
